Four enthusiastic friends - Hasnizam, Azizul, Jon and Aadila are set to prove that creative entrepreneurs are not an oxy-moron. UV was actually inspired by the personal struggles of its founders to start a business. A platform to collectively share experiences, UV aims to provide participants with core skill sets and facilities required so entrepreneurs concentrate fully on their business and look at creative entrepreneurship as a serious career channel.
WHAT ?
A creative centre aims to help create and establish successful creative entrepreneurs among the youth in areas such as event management, creative design, web developments and creative talent management. Focusing on 3 main sectors – Fashion, Music and Design, they aim to elevate the status of Creative Entrepreneurs as professionals from its current negative perceived association to social problems or lack of commercial viability.
WHY ?
Currently, no one channel can give guidance or business advisory to creative entrepreneurs beyond the point of pre-seed. Most are very small and are flea market based with nevertheless good viable products and market potential which unfortunately face untimely deaths after three months. Most available funding elegibility criteria also do not consider or recognise innovations in design, music or fashion.
HOW ?
This project aims to develop 100 successful creative entrepreneurs within the first year of inception through business mentoring and coaching, providing event and exhibition space with fully equipped recording and photography studios. Urban Village will fill this gap by providing the ideal environment both in terms of infrastructure and support to the creative youth.
